NOW HE IS ALMOST A DAILY DOSE
by Jack Bell
THIS is the season when the BBC prescribes an almost daily dose of Andrews (Eamonn).
Last night he was back as chairman with the inevitable "What's My Line?" - a job he's been doing now for five years
Tonight he's the man who turns to some unsuspecting character among the TV audience in the King's Theatre at Hammersmith and tells him or her "This Is Your Life" (8.15).
From background material dug up by researchers and hammered into script form Eamonn will trot out so many faces from the past that the subject is liable to squirm in embarrassment.
Sport, Too
The person may even burst into tears, as Eamonn did himself when he became the "guinea pig" for the first British run of this American-inspired programme.
On Wednesday the Andrews smile and Andrews brogue switch to Children's TV, where he'll be opening another "Playbox."
Then, just in case you're missing him towards the end of the week, you have only to turn to his first love - sound radio - on Saturday and you can have a double dose on the Light Programme, where he introduces "Sports Parade" at lunchtime and "Sports Report" at tea.
