THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Finlay Currie, actor, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews in the foyer of the BBC Television Theatre.

Born in Edinburgh, Finlay began his acting career on stage, touring the United States in a song and dance act he did with his wife, Maude Courtney.

He made his first film in 1931, and soon became a popular character actor, memorably appearing as Magwitch in David Lean’s Great Expectations, and later in Hollywood epics Quo Vadis and Ben-Hur.
