THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Jim Watt, boxer, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews at John Conteh's restaurant, JC, in Mayfair, London, having been led to believe he was there for a celebration of his recently published autobiography.

Jim, who was born in Glasgow, was a keen soccer player at school but took up boxing in the frozen winter of 1963 while training as an apprentice electrician. He came to prominence in 1968, winning the ABA lightweight title and turning professional the same year.

Jim won the British lightweight title in 1972, the European lightweight title in 1977, and the WBC World lightweight title in 1979 - and in March 1981, he was the only boxer in the history of British boxing to have successfully defended his world title four times.
