THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Peter Bowles, actor, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews at the entrance of Burlington Arcade on London's Piccadilly.

Peter, who was born in London but grew up in Nottingham, trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His theatrical career began with the Old Vic theatre company in 1956 before joining the Bristol Old Vic in 1960, and later, regular work in London’s West End.

On television, he played small parts, mainly villains, in various series such as The Saint, The Avengers and The Prisoner, before finding his niche in comedy roles in such sitcoms as ITV's Only When I Laugh and the BBC's To The Manor Born.
