Peter BARKWORTH (1929-2006)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Peter Barkworth, actor, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews in central London after the car he was travelling in 'broke down'.
Peter, who was born in Margate but grew up in Cheshire, studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art before working in repertory theatre in Folkestone and Sheffield.
He appeared in numerous plays in the West End, including Crown Matrimonial in 1972, a role he repeated on television two years later, for which he won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor. In 1979, he starred in the BBC drama series Telford's Change - a role that made him a household name.
