Terry SCOTT (1927-1994)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Terry Scott, actor and comedian, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews - with the help of actress June Whitfield - during a personal appearance at the Army and Navy Stores in Camberley, Surrey.
Terry, who was born in Watford, took part in concert parties during his National Service in the Navy, before briefly studying accounting. After entering show business full-time, he developed his act on the variety club circuit before forming a double act with Bill Maynard, with whom he appeared together in the BBC television series Great Scott – It's Maynard!
During the 1960s, he appeared with Hugh Lloyd in the BBC television sitcom Hugh and I, and, in addition to making several film appearances, he became a popular pantomime dame. From 1972, Terry starred with June Whitfield in the hugely successful BBC television sitcom Happy Ever After.
